West Woodburn First School is a very small, rural school on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. Set in the heart of West Woodburn village in the beautiful Rede valley, the school serves the villages of West Woodburn, East Woodburn, Ridsdale, and a number of outlying properties. We have a splendid Victorian building with a conservatory extension and excellent outdoor facilities which include a large field, a school garden, a wild garden and a sheltered outdoor classroom. Staff and governors work together to provide an exciting curriculum in an enabling and caring environment where children enjoy learning. Due to the small size of our school, we get to know our families really well, working together to provide what is best for each child.
We have strong links within the community, work very closely with Otterburn First School and local partnership of other similar schools within the area. We share good practice and collaborate regularly to ensure smooth and confident transition to the local middle schools.
I hope you enjoy finding out more about us by exploring our website. If you would like to visit the school, please do not hesitate to contact us.
